Kaitlyn Chung
Kaitlyn Chung is the founder of Octave, a student at Belmont University, and a lifelong lover of music. Kaitlyn was born and raised in southern Illinois and was homeschooled until her sophomore year, where she attended Southwestern Illinois College as a full-time Running Start student. Kaitlyn graduated high school with an Associate of Arts degree in 2022 and attended Belmont University that same year. Kaitlyn is a Commercial Voice major with an emphasis in Music Technology and a minor in Music Business.
As a freshman at Belmont, Kaitlyn was inducted into Alpha Chi—one of the top honor societies in the nation. All her life, Kaitlyn has had the dedication and work ethic to excel in academics and beyond. When she came to Music City, Kaitlyn saw the need to facilitate a sense of community and collaboration for people who share her passion for music and community. Through Octave, Kaitlyn works to connect with musicians and creatives to help them achieve their goals.
Ellen Tift Goebel
With a Bachelor of Music from Belmont University and a Master of Music from the University of Miami, Ellen Tift Goebel has honed her craft as a composer, arranger, lyricist, and producer. Her talents have garnered national recognition, including a 3rd place win in the 8th Billboard Song Contest jazz category. Since 1996, Ellen has been an esteemed adjunct faculty member at Belmont University's School of Music, teaching songwriting and commercial composition. She has instructed a diverse range of courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels, covering everything from composition and production to commercial vocal styles and studio recording.
Beyond the classroom, Ellen is a prolific composer and producer. She has composed hundreds of pieces for international clients and music licensing, featuring her songs in several major network promos and TV shows. Her versatility as an artist is showcased through the founding of two music groups: Legendary Zeroes in 2016 and Adorable Freaks in 2017.Ellen is also one half of the sensational electronic music production duo "Worldwide Groove Corporation." Their first independent album, "Chillodesiac Lounge vol. 1," released in 2007, took the global music scene by storm, garnering airplay worldwide and inclusion in multiple compilation projects across the U.S. and Europe.
